experiential learning IS THE FASTEST WAY TO DEVELOP YOURSELF
I remember the first touchpoint I had with AIESEC after my induction - I went straight into a sales summit and practiced selling exchanges to random AIESECers I had met for the first time. It went for about 3 hours, practicing, reflecting, learning, then practicing again and getting feedback from my partner. In those 3 hours I learned so much about how to sell an AIESEC exchange to a young person. In fact, even though my knowledge of the organisation has developed in the past 5 years, I would say the way I sell exchange now is still 75% similar to what I learned that day.
I remember my first OGX meeting I went to as an OGX member back in 2012. My VP told me I was responsible for emailing all the people who registered their interest at the O-week the week before. That night, I drafted up an email and thought about out how to write it in a way that would guide people through the application process. My VP had a quick look and gave some feedback before I sent it out, and this formed a clear understanding of the customer journey and clarity in what even is OGX.
Those were my first two touchpoints as a new member within 1 week of joining the organisation. And in neither of those circumstances was I given a lecture/session/detailed instructions on how get the job done. The things I learned through practical experiences I learned in 1 day - and I think I only eventually figured out what the other random slides from induction were about 2 months later at StateCon (when I experienced it firsthand).

It's widely researched that retention of learning is higher when you learn by doing. This is also why AIESEC choses to provide practical experiences (in challenging environments) because we strongly believe that young people can best learn how to be leaders for the world when they learn by doing.
What does that mean about my members?
Recruitment is just about wrapping up and operations are also gearing up intensity at the same time. This is the prefect opportunity now to get our members to both learn and perform quickly and effectively! Through learning by doing, they quickly gain skills and knowledge and are able to start
understanding what this 'leadership development' of AIESEC is all about!
What are you doing this week to upskill your new members so that they can gain some quick wins? How will they feel when they achieve? How will you recognise them for their achievements?

MARketing RESULTS
Attractions never stops - but if you don't act now, attractions peak will pass us by.
We got off to a great start with O'Week, but our growth compared to 2016 is slowly, and 2016 results are quickly catching up to where we are now. It's time to generate both a high volume of Opens through a high intensity of Marketing, as well as strategic Opens. Look through the channel data that's been collected: which marketing channels have been getting you results, and how will you focus on these and further capitalise on them? And how can you tailor your attractions activity to our market segments?

ICX 3 Weekly Priorities:
a) Lead Connected: More than half of the LC are already in Green, that mean's that they can focus they capacity in transforming those Leads in actual prospects (Lead Connected). We are have way in March and the performance and activity is pretty low! (Picture above)
b) Easter Plan: (AIESEC in ANU Idea)
During one month before holidays and mid term exams we have super keen members. This is the month to have as many meetings as we can and leave before holidays a good number of negotiations.
- Actions spaces: Peer to peer learning and activity for each member
- Track every week the performance and improvements in your goals
c) Re-raise preview partners
We have around 43 partners since 2015 and only 18% of them have continued their partnership with AIESEC. This is the easiest way to have contracts signed and EPs in Australia!
- Have I talked to these companies in the past 6 months?
- Are they still interested?

What's Happening around the network
Shout-out to Isaac (VP MaC, ANU) and the rest of the team at AIESEC in ANU for using the market segments in marketing to get results! The early round OGX campaign focused on "the things you'll do, the places you'll go", and ANU modified their stall based on this to get people thinking about literal places they want to go in the world. Their interactive stall then encouraged people to write on sticky notes about these locations, before signing up to OP.
Good job ANU! Small changes can make our operations smarter and more relevant, and get us better results!
(P.S. Please get a new banner - Global Citizen is not brand aligned!)
want to brush up on your external knowledge?
We've created a group for anyone who wants to join and share articles and ideas from our external world that relate to AIESEC. It could be a company's perspective, a survey, report, video, or anything that touches on topics that relate to what we do - e.g. Asian Century, youth unemployment, globalisation, etc.
The purpose of this is for us to be more aware of what other people are saying and to see if we can potentially partner or work with these thought leaders as well :) Happy reading & sharing!
