A few days ago, this article about Australia's education system was floating around Facebook, questioning whether our 'tolerance of failure' was leading to declines in our maths, science and reading skills, and that we are going too easy on our younger generations.
As fiercely as I believe Australians are purposeful and want the best for the world, I do see the way that striving for excellence can become optional in this country - it's easy to be excited by the bigger picture, and much harder to make it work every day, especially when it feels like life gets in the way between us and our ability to make things real.
This October, let's be the best reflection of Australian society <3 in the lead-up to summer, there's never been a time when we've needed each other more - for every person within AIESEC in Australia to be aligned, team leaders to guide their people in the right way, and to bring people through our customer flow fast because we just can't wait for youth to develop their leadership abroad this summer.
This is it - our biggest and best chance to make it work for a summer of leadership development, for Australia, for the world.

Midsem break for most LCs has just ended, and October is now beginning. October is the last month for us to drive activity, before exam period hits in. We've had 115 Approves since July 1st, which is 115 unique life changing, leadership development experiences. How can we focus in October to provide even more experiences for Australian Youth!

How are you ensuring that our people are equipped with the right knowledge, skills and attitudes to deliver a summer of #540Co? Remember, TM is a practice delivered by everyone that leads a team - how are you going to make sure that in this month that's do or die that all your team leaders are driving the TM processes?
From delivering team standards to driving performance management - our people processes are make or break this month. Operations don't happen with your strategies, they start with the people. Do your members that work on your oGV product have clear open, applicants, accepts and approve goals? Do the leaders of the team understand what learning and development they need to provide their members to achieve this?
How are you utilising your regular one-to-ones to understand more about your members? How fast are you using this information to tweak your actions?
October is here! Ask me for any help that you may need - each day that goes by is a lost opportunity for making it real <3.
