HAVING CLEAR PRIORITIES - BOTH PERSONAL AND WORK!
With mid-semester assessments and study breaks coming up, how do I prioritise and make sure the important things stay important?
Remember at the end of the day you are the one driving AIESEC to deliver the promises we make for young people.
And without you being at your best we wouldn't be able to deliver those promises!
If we want to be an organisation that truly cares about our customers, it's about having the right priorities as an AIESECer to deliver those promises for our customers and also ourselves.
During mid-semester season, clearly define 3 AIESEC work priorities and 3 personal/university priorities every week. Have your team leader hold you accountable to it, and give it your all!

Opens are useless if they don't convert!
Yes, Opens are one of MaC's Measures of Success, but if you're attracting people who don't convert to Applicants and Approves, then what's the point of getting so many Opens in the first place anyway?
Here are a few things to think about this week:

Here are a few things to think about this week:
- Who is most likely to have enough time to go on exchange this winter - e.g. students who are graduating or who don't have exams - and how can I best reach them?
- One of MaC's MoS should be the % conversion from Opens to Applicants for each channel - how can you ensure your activities or events are supporting both Attraction and Conversion?
- Are my VP OGX and I on the same page regarding our roles and responsibilities?

ICX Weekly Priority:
a) Break Lead Generation to Lead Connected Conversion rate:
Right now our conversion rate is really low, the lack of activity or not recording activity is showing that our portfolio is not performing in the best way possible. Incentive your members to do more contacts and record them in PODIO.
b) Follow up, Follow up and Follow up:
Not only continue following up your current leads, but also follow up the meetings that you have attended. It's really important to remember that after the meeting the sale is not close and we have to keep following up, not as often as we used to do it with Leads but at least every 2 or 3 days, with a call and an email.
c) Smart Sales:
After you attend a meeting you have a good or a bad feeling. If you know that this company is not going to close that contract only follow up once send what the ask and put that company on stand by, follow up every week. You have to concentrate your effort and time on the company that actually showed a strong willingness to partner with AIESEC.
If you are not sure whether the company wants to partner with AIESEC or not, do a few follow ups and sense their commitment to close as soon as possible if you don't feel a possible yes. As the sale person you know that you need to move to a better prospect.

What's Happening around the network
Asia Pacific Conference Bring Back! 7 Delegates from AIESEC in Australia was in Agra, India last week joining 250+ delegates from around the world as we literally lived and breathed AIESEC for 6 days straight.
Here straight from Natasha from RMIT about her experience at APC: "Only having been apart of AIESEC for month in OGX and a newly installed TL for Marketing and Communications, going into APC that was filled mostly with LCVPs, LCPs and people part of the MC was safe to say very overwhelming. The first day started with a 3am wake up call from Louise switching on the lights to our hostel room signalling it was time to get moving. After a 4 hour bus ride from New Delhi , we finally reached Agra around 9.30 and things immediately hit full swing. Global Village was my first experience meeting people from different LCs of countries other than Australia." |
Shout-out to Hannah Blanco and Victoria Einarsen (Macquarie OGX & MaC members) for joining Layli & Josh at the Exchange Fair at the University of Newcastle last week! They traveled for 3+ hours to get there and got 13 Opens - looking forward to our first Approved EPs from the University of Newcastle soon, so watch this space! We loved seeing your hustle and drive to connect with every possible customer and how willing you were to adapt your sales to the market. Very proud and can't wait to see what's to come!

As members of AIESEC in Australia 2017, this is our year to do what we can with this platform to serve youth, and generation 17-20 is our calling to leave the organisation in an even better place in order to create even more leadership development experiences. Please welcome two more people joining the fold - Adithya Mani (LCP 2016, UNSW) and Kacper Pikor (MCVP BD 2016-17, AIESEC for Poland) - to do just that with us. MC Australia 1718 is almost complete and ready to start making it work to make it real with you!
State Conferences are an exciting touchpoint for every AIESECer to develop themselves through enabling more leadership experiences, upskill in leadership and management, and celebrate AIESEC's purpose and culture in the best way we know how!
