if you get tired - learn to rest, not to quit <3
Last week, I flew back to spend the weekend at home feeling particularly drained. Chatting to a friend of mine who used to be part of AIESEC in Malaysia, I shared with him everything from current affairs in Australia to my own current state of feeling challenged, tired and happy to be where I was, all the same.
The WhatsApp message he sent after our conversation helped to re-center me: I needed to be at my best in order to enable the people around me and the youth we serve to be at our best. I am so proud to do the work that I do, knowing that as our numbers rise more so than they have in the past two years, so does our impact and contribution to the world.
For the rest of the weekend, I did what makes me come alive - interacting with the people that matter in my life. For a few blissful hours, I slept til when I wanted, I drove myself all around Melbourne, eating, talking and hanging out with friends. Our conversations gave me the bursts of energy and determination to come back to my meetings, conference preparation and exchange strategies stronger.
Take a breather.

Remember to take care of yourself - you can't pour from an empty cup. Rest, not quit, and let's keep going <3

With most universities on Midsem break this week, take the next few days to slow down and look at the progress you've made. Since July 1st, we have Approved 95 people to go on Exchange this Summer. That's 95 unique life changing, leadership development experiences that we will be providing and contributing to!
Use the next few days to recognise the progress we've made in the last 3 months, and come back strong, as to how we can provide these leadership experiences to more youth, in the upcoming months!!

October is just around the corner! You know what that means? MY BIRTHDAY <3 😄😄😄
Hehe jokes aside, October is make or break as some of you have put it yourselves. In these last few days of September - I strongly recommend you to pause. Look back. Look where we've come from.
We can finally see what % of our members are productive (work in progress).
We better understand how TM directly contributes to adding value in the organisation.
We know there is still a lot left to do, at the same time, we have also come a long way. This time last year, in my EBM I was talking about LCMs, I was talking about Talent Database, I was talking about things that were not related to our products at all. And I looked at my VPoGCDP (oGV back in the days) priorities and one was - discussion with TLs about performance and internal member audit to see which members need to be put on probation. Looking back on this - this was a prime example of TM processes. How WE support people is making sure that we are looking after our people in the right way. TM processes are driven and implemented by our team leaders but developed, educated and tracked by us. Do things that matter this month!!

We are all F - F for Finance.
We are in our Finance roles because we care about money, sales, profit, sustainability.
We are also in AIESEC because we are privileged enough to do so and because we care about #pnf
We need to understand ourselves to take care of ourselves because if we are knocked out we lose the opportunity to impact so many more young people in Australia. The future of AIESEC is on us so we need to be at our best so AIESEC can be at its best.
