#conferences
Second day back in office after arriving back from International President's Meeting.
It was the best conference that came at the best time of the year - with many realisations and learnings to reground and refocus ourselves as an organisation.
3 key highlights of IPM
1. AIESEC is not a system, AIESEC is a part of a system #partnership4exchange
2. Daily Tracking + open conversation about progress = urgency (we do too much and don't measure it)
3. Measure yourself to the market you exist in, not comparing to others
(bonus) "Find a way to solve the problems. If legal is a problem, find a way to get to the Prime Minister"
(bonus) "If you don't grow your social media brand reach, how do you expect to grow in IGT"
There are opportunities within AIESEC that allows and creates spaces for members of the organisation to reground and refocus ourselves.
The next one coming up in the nation for any NSW AIESECers is Regional Induction Conference this weekend! Look out for your state/region's conference dates and register early! Get in touch with operations and the direction of the organisation to better understand what the contribution of our roles are.

Long time on and off follower of Gary V I am and this month I'm really getting back into his style and ideas. He always reminds of a few key messages: 1) authenticity is everything 2) caring is king 3) self awareness and empathy always wins 4) marketing is about giving value. If you havn't already check out his social media and internet loaded resources Gary Vaynerchuk not endorsed but willing to be paid for it ;)

iGT
Hello iGT Boxers!
Welcome to any new iGT members who may be joining the network! Confused on what being an iGT Boxer means? Ask your VP about the national iGT identity! You'll also find out soon :)
We've talked over the past few weeks about kicking off your sales peak. As we head into our last week of February, it's important we're finishing the last week strong so we can carry that pipeline into lots of March meetings! While your generating your leads and following up with companies, it's really important that know WHAT we sell and WHO we sell to, and I'm not just talking about Global Talent and companies.
Use our Pre-Attraction Resources to see more information on:
- Customer Personas: Profiles of the main type of decision makers we contact - It helps us understand their own personal interests so we make stronger connections between Global Talent and their goals/challenges. Use it to help you understand who to contact in a company, better address their needs, and ultimately be more customer centric!
- National JDs: The 4 main JDs/roles we can fill for a company - It helps narrow our focus and make our selling more specific! When we sell Global Talent to a company, it can be sometimes too broad with all it's options and choices. By selling these 4 main JDs, we can specifically show the types of roles we can fill with our AIESEC talent.
All of this information is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT to understand when you start your sales; it's the content meat to your operational bones! Embody those #TenaciousAttitudes to learn and use this information for more effective sales throughout. Good luck, Boxers!
All my love,
Eileen

O-Week, & First Impressions!
IT IS O-week for the Victoria region LCs! We are so close to 5k opens, and I'm positive we're going to make it by the end of the month. O-week is the week for you'll to get some solid interest for your semester, but something you shouldn't forget about is your own members. While servicing customers is great, you'll should be taking care of your employees as well. Read this case study on how HCL Technologies values its employees first, and knows that valuing them will ensure that they will value their customers as well. Make great first impressions on them.
Again, if you plan well, I'm sure you, and your team are absolutely going to have the best jumpstart to the semester!!
Can't wait to see us go through the O-weeks!!!
EST Update: Again, Congrats to: Saad, Alyssa, Sherlyn, Janice, Linh and Shubham!
Congrats to Linh for getting an approve and to Sherlyn for booking 2 meetings already!
On a lighter note, and continuing past tradition, the phrase I have for this week is:
"Stop ironing my head"
This is an Armenian saying which means that that person is annoying the crap out of you! So who do you think irons the most heads in the entity?
As always - can't wait to hear this!!!!
Gaurav, your MCVP PD 18.19

TM Bubble Tea
“To create purposeful spaces that catalyst the growth of our people
Hi Bubble Teas!
How have you been? This period of time might be pretty hectic with you with members recalibration post o-week and preparing your members to start pitching in stalls. I always feel very excited to see very keen bean members that wish to develop themselves through leadership through exchange. But my biggest question is, as VP TM, are we actively providing a space for the members to discover and develop themselves?
That's why we have MEMBERSHIP EDUCATION CYCLE!
What is it actually? To put it short i'll let you see this slides below.

To learn more about Membership Education Cycle. Please check our commission chat slides here.
But TL;DR these are some tips on how to design a kick ass MEC
1. You really need to understand the operations strategy, needs, and timeline. Always ground yourself with the KSA question (what knowledge? what skills? what attitude?) that can support the members to achieve their ambition and their operational ambition
2. Education doesn't have to be all about the functions. It can also be about competence. (WTF is competence? check here to know more)
3. Assess gaps. Some people might have different knowledge gap and learning ability. By knowing the gaps. You know how to deliver a proper education.
4. Decide the topics, put it into timeline, and track! Ok so I know as a VP TM, we don't deliver much functional education, but its our main job to know the effectiveness of it and how it has been delivered to the members. You can do that through the MEC evaluation and feedback.
But Kiki, how can I improve the way I deliver educational spaces? Here are some tips for you on how to become an awesome educator.
1. Watch TED talks! I learn most of my public speaking skills through watching TED talks and other people doing public speaking. Try to watch one during your commute to the uni. (this TED talk is actually about public speaking, click here to watch)
2. Always note down key main points of the things that you want to say, and what kind of output you want to get from the space. Don't make it too rigid, but also don't be too tangent.
3. Get feedback from your EB team/peers. Look at point of improvements that you can learn from the public speaking.
4. Practice. Welp, most of my ability to do public speaking is through actually try and fail. But It's a good process of learning.
This is actually a pretty long newsletter. If you actually read this until the end, please send a cat emoji to our TM bubble tea group or to me personally (if you're not in the group).
Let's talk more by hitting me on messenger or book me for a talk at rizkirimadina.youcanbook.me!
Have a nice week!

What's been happening with Finance?
Our LCVPFs just had commission chat where we went over the first steps in our transition from the accounting platform, XERO, to a free platform, Wave, which will save us tons of money as an entity! Everyone is also prepping our end of the month reconciliation in prep for MFR and GFB reporting!

CFO Quote of the Week!!!
Its important we constantly remind ourselves that we are not just the LCVPFs of our LCs, and we are for sure hell not just the accountants of our LCs, but instead we are the CFOs! So continuing with every newsletter, here's the CFO's quote of the week! Here we will dive deep into what real world CFOs share is the key to SUCESSSsssss.
John Stephens, The CFO of AT&T, a major American home improvement supplies retailing company, has this to share,
" In this era of 'free money,' it's still critical to remember cash generation -- or, rather, consistent and material cash generation. It's the biggest factor in the long-term success of any business."
Expanding on this quote, John shares this;
"'This might sound textbook, but that's because it's true. Revenue growth and disciplined expense management will generate the cash a business needs to invest, seize growth opportunities, and return consistent value to owners"
This quote reminds me of something I learned early on as a LCVPF that blew my mind in a way. Many organizations are aiming for peace and AIESEC's way of achieving this is through the business of leadership development. We of course do this through exchange. Exchange is how WE as a business achieve Peace and Fulfillment. In practice, this means that our focus is in doing exchange, and that we shouldn't get distracted by bake sales or fundraising with local family businesses that many other organizations did back in my university. Instead we need to ground ourselves in the focus of how we will utilize our current resources to drive exchange, which is our main income driver. While its nice to receive support through other channels, ultimately our main income channel should be exchange so we can reliably manage our expenses around it and re-invest our surpluses into the organization to grow. And that is how we achieve sustainability.
