Hey AIESEC!
Today I want to share you 2 stories of AIESECers who I look up to:
1. She was in her second year double degree in Law and International relations. People call her a robot. She was leading the Outgoing Global Volunteer Product in my LC. She managed 4 TLs and the largest portfolio in the LC. She was so humble, disciplined and hardworking. Under her lead, the LC grew in OGV like NEVER before. Our LC won both national awards in that year, consecutively.
2. She was one of the most fun AIESECer to be around. She got shit done, fast. I'd be sitting there for 2 hours trying to figure things out (but really I was overthinking and didn't have framework to guide me). While she would nap, play some games, then start working with 20 minutes left and smash everything out. She grew her LC like crazy. Led with courage and gave herself, her EB and her commission 0 excuses and vice versa.

Hello my OGX Peeps!
This last weekend we hit a pretty big milestone: crossing the threshold for 200+ Approved EPs since July 1st! It's awesome to see the progress everyone has made towards achieving this goal, but we're not done yet! Exams are still going strong, and hopefully everyone is still holding on with the stress management and time management this week! Some key things to keep in mind are the continuous actions that need to be done even though we have a whirlwind to manage; following up with our EPs and finding the space to get our funnel through.
Huge shoutout to MU during this last week for this; they had consistent action with their follow up after 4 EPs were accepted last Wednesday, and had the objective to have their payments and contracts finished by Friday of the same week. At the end of the week they pulled through with 4 more Approved EPs and pulled ahead of the whole nation! This is one example of how operations can still be going strong during this time even though we have exams!
So Call To Action:
- Have activities defined for how you will improve your conversion rate during this period; what is the 20% that you need to achieve during this week to get you the 80% of your results we need to have by the end of October (which is tomorrow ahhh!!!)
- Define what part of the process is our EP getting stuck (is it earlier stage, is it later with the accept?) and communicate with who you need to to move them along the funnel!
- Lastly, we're going to see how our operating procedures can improve as we move forward into November; look at how you can automate the process to get EPs to apply after signing up without having a CC space or a call that doesn't provide additional information! Would love to see updates in the OGV Facebook group with what ideas you came up with and how that helped you make your conversion more effective!

As we wrap up Actober and head into November (campaign to be revealed soonnnn), we finishing up a pretty solid month for operations. However, if we’re truly iGT Boxers, we know that as soon as we start to get comfortable with the current path that we’re on, it’s time to head onto the next unknown part of the developmental journey. #TenaciousAttitudes
What’s the next step? Learning more about Open>Accept of course! Not only do we have brand new spanking SOP, but we also have a webinar this Thursday at 7PM EST to walk you through it and to hear from others in the network. I know you're bogged down with exam stuff right now (and valiant efforts on your part!), but take a mental break for an hour and come sit in on the webinar. Everyone can benefit from learning about this stage of the process, both those with open accounts and those with warm leads.
Think you already know this stuff? Then come on out and teach the network your learnings! When we share our learnings with the network, the whole network grows. Looking forward to seeing you all there and kicking off a wonderful November!

Tenacious Attitudes, Consistent Actions
There's a lot going on with the MC team. Working on coaching tours, transition conference, VicCon, Product Summit, and our own functional objectives - it does seem like there's a lot on everyone's plate. But the cool thing is that I see a lot of the MC supporting each other in their roles. I wish that you'll support each other in what you're doing as well - if you're not, reach out to them, it's never too late to support one of your team members in their journey for leadership.
Our EST team - Chi has got an open with an alumni. It's amazing to see AIESEC in Australia building that alumni network, adding value to their company, and providing someone with the opportunity to learn Australian culture, and truly become a world citizen. If you know any alumni, please recommend them and we can see how we can partner with them - I think it will be cool!
On a more lighter note, as I do, every week, I will talk about a phrase or word from some part of the world so that we can be world citizens! So this weeks phrase is:
"Maccas"
CALLING ALL PEOPLE: THIS IS THE LAST WEEK. (Please don't leave me hanging). SEND ME YOUR TICKETS. This is an Australian slang that is used instead of McDonalds...Now you must be wondering why I'm putting this here!?? Tbh, this relates to what I was talking about as a 'final sprint'. In general, most of the strategies that the LC implemented to engage their members during exam are team challenges, setting early expectations to members, holding action spaces to do AIESEC work and also to study for exam, have a buddy system so people can be accountable to each other and having daily recognition and embed it in local RnR.

Exam Period : Managing your team virtually Why and How
In this topics right now, we're talking about how to actually make sure that we're managing our people the at best way possible during exam?
1. Identify our most engaged members : Ask your TLs or VP to ask the members during o2o/personally if they still engaged to perform during this period.
2. Define Standards : What is the bare minimum that the people can achieve during exam period?
3. Define how many touch points left with the LC : Hash out time where it’s still possible to have touchpoint with the members. It can be virtual/slack/messenger
4. Define clear deliverables in each touchpoint : Provide more detailed descriptions of the tasks with examples of what the final result should look like. Give the team the freedom to execute it than less instructions and having to deal with potential misunderstandings.
5. Reward those peeps! Include it in your RnR system : You can recognise them by their lead measures or their main deliverables during exams. Have a catchy message that you will use in entire period as a campaign.
Remember that there's no excuse for not doing AIESEC because leadership cannot wait! The biggest question that you need to answer by yourself is how to make sure that I'm utilising my full potential to develop myself to perform better in critical times? This is are the experience that I learn the hard way but its worth it!
