what can you learn?
I'm back! And I could not be happier to find out - first thing after coming back - the incredible results achieved by the O-week activities! Congratulations to all of you for your hard work and efforts in spreading the word of AIESEC across your campus and bringing awareness of the importance of youth leadership for the world. Just one month into your term, I hope you will reflect on this as the first big achievement of your term.
A key advice I've learned over the years is not to overlook these achievements as simple successes. Having put so much effort into it, it's easy to be satisfied with your work and move straight onto the next thing. What is really going to help you as a leader and as an organisation moving forward, is to spend some decent time reflecting and learning from the project.
After finishing delivering a project, spend 15 minutes debriefing with your entity: What went well? What could be done better?
Deeply understanding this will ensure you can pinpoint the reasons behind your success, so that they can be replicated later during the year, and is retained as valuable knowledge for sharing and building the network's capacity. Furthermore, it will challenge you to find ways to make it even better. In striving to be a youth leadership movement, there are always ways to become better and reach more people. Be humble, don't settle for complacency - build on the successes and learnings and allow that to be a trampoline into the next big thing.
Launching, yet constantly taking the time to learn, will make the biggest difference in where you go next. I look forward to the next achievement!

- Amazing job with all the Opens over the last week, incredible job! And good luck to UTS and USYD for their upcoming O'Weeks as well! Don't slow down now - it's time to nurture your leads to get them to apply for opportunities asap. We'll be talking about this in the VP MaC chat this week
- Sign everyone up onto aiesecaustralia.org/signup - this automatically signs them up onto OP, and also allows me to export their contact details everyday. From there you can email all these Opens about both Recruitment and Exchange, so you won't miss anyone :D Plus, everyone will be an Open so will get information about using OP and could end up going on exchange even if they didn't originally intend to ;) Continue using this for all your events, so we can better track effectiveness of channels
- RIS is also happening - reach out if you want feedback on your agenda, and make sure it adheres to the RIS Standards! (VP MaC's, you know what this is)

ICX Results
ICX 3 Weekly Priorities:
1) Lead Generation: We have growth this last week in lead generation, we still need to hit our target so we can start 100% contacting this companies, what are the actions do we need to take to achieve this goal. The National Deadline to have Lead Generation done is the 28th of February.
2) Sales Materials Preparation: To give a good induction to your members on how to be a Sales Manager we have to provide all materials regarding our process and activities. Clarity on sales will make our team learn based on experience and not based on how many trainings they attend.
3) First Team moment: It is really important to prepare a retreat with your team. In this space you can explain your Dreams for ICX, create your vision/mission as a team, explain plan, goals, small training and bond as a team. This space could be your only training (Lecture) for your team. The rest of them could be practical training (more explanation in our chat).
You can assign timeline and responsible for these priorities, they don't have to be 100% on you.

FAB Summit was a definitely the first step we need to get closer to achieve overall organisational sustainability. It was a 3-day journey where it challenged all of our understanding of Finance in the network. One of my favourite moments is the time where we had the freedom to create the direction of Finance in 1617 & how we could move forward with these to achieve AIESEC 2020. Organisation Sustainability is vital and crucial for AIESEC to achieve Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind’s potential & if we operate in a way where we will cease to exist, we will lose our ability to spread our impact.
Therefore, I am very much looking forward to work with FAB in 2017 to ensure we achieve sustainability & create the organisational necessity for AIESEC in Australia to achieve its potential for coming years!
- JingYi Tai, MCVP Finance & Governance 16/17
FAB Summit was an adventurous 3 days discovering the deeper relevance of Finance in AIESEC and understanding with more clarity, the reality of the organisation - analysing the past 6 months and projecting the future 6 months. We looked at how goals were interrelated with LCs striving for more exchanges and operational profit, MCs laying down foundations (Finance Standards) to achieve the term’s 16/17 of A2020 ambitions and AI’s A2020 roadmap for Finance. On Day 2, we allocated the FAB team specific LCs to consult and support throughout our 6 month term. The FAB Team will also be working on projects such as monthly NFR and a Finance Hub. On Day 3, we worked on 2 hacking questions Finance was facing - Cost Structure and Engagement. Output of both will be delivered to the FnG commission during Finance chat.
