we create opportunities for young people to become world citizens.
I remember having a conversation with a member at July Conference 2015 (held in Melbourne), asking a simple question: How would I know when I am developing as a member?
Is it when I learn a lot of new skills? Is it when I challenge myself to do something different? Is it when I get to lead a team? AIESEC is strives to achieve peace and fulfilment of humankind's potential through exchanges. So when you are successful in creating those opportunities for young people, that's when you are truly demonstrating the leadership and commitment to make the world a better place. Never forget that, and enjoy every moment of your role. It's a truly challenging experience that will lead to an incredible impact on the world. #leadfearlessly #lovehard Have a great week! Have IR partners' TNs talk about the impact that they've experienced in their country then use this for our marketing (USYD)
"hai, so the idea behind having TNs talk is for EPs to be able to see what the actual impact they're making in a particular project, why that project is actually worthwhile, and how it's actually making a difference to issues in that country/ territory. A lot of the videos I've seen talks about the EPs' journey and what they get out of it, so it might be really interesting to see the impact from a TN point of view."
MC Recommendations
Very simply done - use our country partners and LC-LC partnerships to help you get this information. It would be interesting to see a video with both the EP and TN sides :)
Promote AIESEC's ability to provide insight into the International market rather than talking about cultivating leadership (Curtin)
"With a focus on International market insight, meetings with organizations are more likely to close deals because it would be in their best interests. This is not to say we don't still talk about AIESEC's beliefs and goals, just to a lesser extent whilst focusing on the part which most businesses value most; Money."
MC Recommendations
That's awesome! Leveraging off our global network and strong presence in Asia Pacific! Keeping thinking about where can we be the expert that companies need to partner with us to solve - we are also experts in young people! Your EBs have connections with LCs all across the world, see how you can get information from them to back you up!

highlight stories!
Public speaking has never really been my friend. When I stand in front of a crowd, my brain will just automatically go blank. It was at the beginning of the project where two or three interns are allocated to a large group of high school students. We stood in front of them on a stage and I was in such a state of panic.
“So many people! I am not ready for this. I don’t know how to do this and I cannot do this.” I told myself. The interns from Thailand and Latvia already started introducing themselves one by one and they were so confident! And then it was my turn. As I got to know all the interns from different countries more, seeing them being so passionate about the social cause and so active in engaging with the delegates, all of these made me think: Why am I constantly letting my fear of public speaking get in the way of doing something I want to do? I could have done so much more for myself and especially those around me, but what have I been really doing? That tiny shift of mindset changed every single experience I had on my exchange from there on. I am still not confident about my public speaking skills but I am constantly pushing beyond my own boundaries and embracing the fears I have. - Sienna Lau (UWS / AIESEC in UNSW) Project: Art of Environment 1.0 City: Almaty, Kazahkstan |
One of my most cherished items from my exchange is a drawing from a girl I taught at the orphanage. On my last day at the orphanage, one of the girls came up to me and secretly* gave me this amazing drawing.
It was so detailed and it actually blew my mind how someone could be so talented. She told me not to tell any of the other volunteers because she only drew it for me... because I reminded her of an older sister and she didn’t want me to forget her. I was so touched but so surprised because I didn’t think I had made a big enough impact. The little things actually count and it was these little but meaningful interactions that will always stick with me. *I told the others anyway because I was so happy and excited she made it for me... #sorrynotsorry. - Tracy Trieu (USYD) |
want to be featured next week? try these tips!
1. Talk about the value AIESEC can bring / has brought to you (not just about purposeful leadership) - this is for stories about AIESEC, whether this is about changing your mindset, your skills, experiences, etc related to the AIESEC way.
2. Keep it short, it should be tailored for the social media channel!
e.g. people don't like reading long posts on facebook, so something short and sweet is more effective for storytelling and reaching new audiences (if you were scrolling through your newfeed, would this post make you pause to read it?)

Congratulations to UNSW, MU, UQ, MQ and ANU for leading the country in getting OGX Applicants last week! How did these LCs lead the charge? Stay tuned to hear from them later in the week! :D
Congratulations JingYi for becoming a Global Finance Board Consultant for Asia Pacific! Super proud of you! Looking forward to seeing more financially sustainable and strong LCs to live & lead a fearless generation 2016-2020 :)
Give it up for... UWA, MQ and Monash!. They are leading the results of this month, let's start conversion those Leads. If you want to know how their getting their results wait for our Peer to Peer learning space!!!
Official EXPA Standings
For the first time this semester, all LCs got at least one applicant in BOTH oGC and oGT/E! :D Well done everyone, keep it up!
How are we growing from 2015?
What inferences are you getting from these numbers?
oGC:
Last week saw a lot of Applicants - well done! How can we both convert these Applicants to Approves in the next week, while also guaranteeing there are new EPs coming into the funnel as Opens and Applicants?
oGT/E:
52 people have applied for a Global Talent or Global Entrepreneur exchange, but only 1 has been approved so far. With such a huge supply of short-term Global Talent and Global Entrepreneur opportunities in India, how can we get EPs to apply to India to get approved quickly?
iGT:
It the past week the number of Leads have improved, now we need to me more consistent on our follow up with this Leads, call every day, send follow up emails, never expect a NO as answer. These 10 meetings must convert in the next 2 weeks into actual contracts, create tailored proposals, don't forget that discipline is the key to have a successful sale.
EASY TO UNDERSTAND OUTPUT FROM IC 2016 :D
