Welcome to your marathon.
People will tell you, "you only have 365 days to make your mark" - and yes, they have a point. You have 365 days where the choices you make (small or big) will manifest a certain outcome within your term or in the future generations. Some people thrive or survive in this environment, other's don't get through to the end of the finishing line with their promises - and here I will tell you that,
You will be pressured at various point in times throughout your journey.
(and these are the big fishes to catch throughout your experience because it accelerates your development and thus achievement)
#MINDOVERMATTER
So take the time to develop the perception of control and focus on things you have influence over things out of your control.
For example: the support system you have, the attributes you have, the belief in yourself.

So take the time to develop the perception of control and focus on things you have influence over things out of your control.
For example: the support system you have, the attributes you have, the belief in yourself.
Have a look at the diagram under "resource appraisals" - and compare the outcomes of two different methods of approaches. Here you can see that it's not about how challenging the environment is, that determines the outcome. It's what the person'S CHOICE to believe in their potential, focus on things they can control, and face challenges head on that changes the game.
What has helped me go through various challenging moments is to remember that everything I think or feel is an interpretation of the matter + the belief that I will be able to acquire skills/or I have the skills to be able to overcome challenges. So many times in my term I can roll into the negative thinking of "I will never be good enough", "I don't think I have it all", or "there's no way I can be as good as them" - but those thoughts help nothing at all, a t a l l. There were so many times I can just throw my hands in the air and say "fk it I'm done" and walk out of the door but it's not about that because if I'm not willing to go through the pain, then what will I gain for myself, AIESEC and the world at the end of the day? nothing.
We choose/I choose this experience.
with that, how will you manage YOURSELF in high pressure environment will be the key to thriving or surviving or not making it through and I don't want any of us to react to it when it comes, because we need every single person to be prepared for the tide ahead.
So, let's come back to it...
If we interpret pressures in a way that generates anxiety or fear, my body will go into a threat state.
If we interpret pressures in a way that generates excitement, my body will go into a challenge state.
It increases epinephrine, blood flow, better mobilisation of energy and hence better decision, task engagement and cognitive functions. WHICH OVERALL IMPROVE PERFORMANCE POSITIVELY.
Look at the year ahead,
How will you spread your excitement to your support system for what is to come in the year ahead?
How will you convert your fears, and the fears of your support system into excitement?

Make sure you know the value proposition and are getting ready to implement o-week! Heres a quick reminder about the value proposition for Global Volunteer
During these upcoming weeks everyone will be working hard to understand how they need to communicate the value proposition to their first batch of EPs. Along with this, we have new product packaging for IR partners that our LCs are working with that we need to learn and communicate!
In addition to this, this week from the national level we're starting to work on something very special for LCs in the network working on one of our main IR partners! Stay tuned for updates on what is going to be taking place in the upcoming weeks for our IR partnership delivery!
A few Call To Actions for the network
1. Start contacting those Opens
2. Book those debriefs for EPs that are Finishing
3. Start learning those opportunity details to be prepared to sell! (what is the project JD, what costs will be associated, what prior preparation with visa and insurance does the EP need to know about?)
It gonna be o-week soon for a lot of LCs so start taking action now!
Cheers,
Alex #weretheshit

Long time on and off follower of Gary V I am and this month I'm really getting back into his style and ideas. He always reminds of a few key messages: 1) authenticity is everything 2) caring is king 3) self awareness and empathy always wins 4) marketing is about giving value. If you havn't already check out his social media and internet loaded resources Gary Vaynerchuk not endorsed but willing to be paid for it ;)

Happy Tuesday, Happy Lunar New Year, Happy New Day!
It's the start of February, and it seems like a glorious time to kickstart our Sales Peak! What does this mean you should do?
1. Follow up on any previous semester warm accounts. For LCs who don't have a lot of members/capacity to generate new leads, here is your opportunity to work hard while working on already primed accounts who may be quicker to open. Start up the conversation again, and get those companies signing and realizing!
2. Don't wait until you have more members in your LC to start up a fresh pipeline! Why wait until March and delay the sales timeline when you can start talking to a company now in February and get a realization in April or May? Bust out your LeadGen skills and get to work!
There's so much to be done for this semester, but that doesn't mean we wait for additional help to get here before we start working on it. We're iGT Boxers! We fight with #TenaciousAttitudes and #ConsistentAction, and we take ownership into our own hands! You just gotta do it!
Looking forward to seeing all the progress you make this month, iGT Boxers!
All my love,
Eileen

Before you know it
It's almost O-week! Time flies by and I remember preparing for O-week. But it's here before you know it. One advice I have for the people going into O-week is that prepare beforehand. To have a coordinated team effort and actually have results - your team needs to know every detail of what's happening when, otherwise, it's going to be .... let's just say "a not so good Oweek". (I was going to say sh*t show). Anyways!
If you plan well, I'm sure you, and your team are absolutely going to have the best jumpstart to the semester!!
Can't wait to see all the O-weeks coming along!!!
EST Update: Again, Congrats to: Saad, Kinzah, Alyssa, Sherlyn, Janice, Linh and Shubham!
We are having our first EST call this week, and I am SUPER EXCITED TO SEE WHERE EVERYONE's AT!!!
On a lighter note, and continuing past tradition, the phrase I have for this week is:
"To give someone a pumpkin"
It's a Spanish saying ("Dar calabazas a alguien") which means that you reject someone or stand them up! So if someone from the entity asked you out, who would you give the pumpkin to?
As always - can't wait to hear this! OWEEK IS HEREEEE!!!!.

Hi Bubble Teas!

Onboarding is all about the environment and the attitude that you build when you interact with your members. And talking about attitude and environment, it relates in to how we can actually drive the culture. Here are some tips of things that you can do in driving culture!

What's been happening with Finance?
Our LCVPFe are no longer elects because they have officially started their term and thus everyone has begun their first budget month as LCVPFs!! This week we had commission chat where we went over Finance's role at every stage of the new Customer Flow and we discussed how everyone is utilizing the budget to overcome any bottlenecks in the Customer Flow.

CFO Quote of the Week!!!
As we begin our terms as LCVPFs, I think its important we constantly remind ourselves that we are not just the LCVPFs of our LCs, and we are for sure hell not just the accountants of our LCs, but instead we are the CFOs! So introducing for the first of many, CFO's quote of the week! Here we will dive deep into what real world CFOs share is the key to SUCESSSsssss.
The CFO, Bob Shanks, of Ford, multinational automaker, has this to share,
" Operating a global business in a fast-changing world, you have to be grounded real-time in the external environment, have complete transparency, be fact-based and working with a great, collaborative team. "
In many ways, AIESEC is also a global business and we are constantly having conversations on how AIESEC can continue to grow and compete in our ever fast changing world where we see that AIESEC is no longer the sole provider of global cultural exchanges. As LCVPFs, and as uni students, its easy to be caught up with the whirlwind of exams or even the leisure of breaks, but this quote from helps remind us that if we want to truly deliver on PnF and continue to be competitive in the fast-changing world, we cannot forget our non-negotiable which is not being the accountant that is just reporting, but the CFOs that are aware of whats happening around our LC and campus, the CFOs that no matter what will always have full transparency and disclosure of facts, and ultimately be the CFO that works alongside the EB and LC to achieve the LC ambition. There's no I in Team, just in F-I-nance ;)
