starting the year where the magic happens
It's a beautiful feeling to scroll through Facebook these days, seeing photos of young people embarking on their summer adventures. It's been 4 years since I went on my own, and I have been forever grateful for the experience and where it has led me in my leadership journey. I have faith that the adventures this summer will be life-changing, and a launchpad for more positive impact moving forward. Don't forget that the experiences we have created throughout our 53 years have changed the course of so many journeys - journeys of leadership, passion, world citizenship and purpose.
I remember the girl who was lost, studying a degree only because her parents told her to. She decided to take a leap of faith and see the world for a break away from everything. I remember preparing her in the beginning - nervous, unsure but ready for a change. She came back totally immersed in the culture, she challenged herself to do things she never could have imagined herself doing, and made friendships with young people from all across the world. She found me in the university library about a year later, and spent an hour with me thanking AIESEC for the experience of a lifetime. It propelled her to start taking her life in her own hands, and do commit to doing things that were purposeful for her and to follow her passions. (She dropped her degree, and is now travelling the world and learning to become a translator!)
I remember the girl who thought high school would be the peak of her life. She made a spontaneous decision to do a volunteer exchange and was completely terrified on the plane ride there. After her exchange, she applied for membership where I had the privilege to meet her for the first time, and she told me stories about her experience and how it shaped her to see the world and what she wanted to do in her life. She ended up changing her degree focus and pursued AIESEC to further that passion forward.
(One of them is on your MC ha ha ha guess who... not a surprise is it :D)
We are so grateful to have a couple hundred stories being lived this summer - I hope you take some time this week to think about the change your making to their lives and what it will do for the world after it :) Moreover, I hope you use this as a reminder to approve those #300 yet to go this summer! They are applying! They are contacting us! They are waiting for you! So what are you waiting for?

What is that one thing that you should be focusing on right now that will get you the most results?? Focus on that one thing and use it as a guide to whre you want to finsih your LC's 2016 term as well as how you would want to start off your LC in 2017!
CONGRATULATIONS AIESEC IN UQ who got 2 GV approves in the last week! :) Looking forward to every LC hitting the goal that they've set for themself in this period. Let's work together and see how we can build off each other in the Project 300 Facebook Group. Massive shout out to Mel Wong ( Monash) for being agile and customer-centric! |
Customer flow implementation tracker
Who will move first?- check it out here
At Sydcon we said that we would be working on 100% Customer Flow Implementation as an entity. The resources have already been sent out to all LCPS and also put on the weebly under resources. Excited to see the first LC that will move from 0% to at least 20%!
Until 17th January we will be having a live update here of how much each LC has to go until they reach 100% ;)

Value deliverywins
Check out customized emails that AIESEC in Sydney send out to their EPs right before they go on exchange. It includes challenges and links them to the AIESEC's EP Hub that every EP should be reading as there are lots of information there. However becauae this EP is extra special, LCPe for USYD in 2017, Daniel has further customized it with information best tailored to Tracey ;)
Brand advocacy campaign
From the Marketing Summit, the LCVPs and EST also came up with TWO campaigns!
Hear Carson talk about the Brand Advocacy Campaign and how we can keep our EPs engaged while they're on exchange :D

Here's a message from Amy Miam (VPe MaC, Curtin) who's leading the national BA Campaign:
What sets this campaign apart is the fact that we’ll be showcasing the EPs’ own photos and video footage during their exchange rather than a post-exchange testimonial. We’ll be utilising Facebook, Instagram and the AIESEC in Australia website - in photos, videos and blog entries.
Alongside the BA Campaign, we're also launching a video/photo competition as an incentive. The basic expectation is that each EP will submit one video, one photo and one blog entry. The EP with the most popular photo or video wins a dinner for themselves and 5 friends upon their return. The dinner will be at a restaurant that specialises in the cuisine of the EP’s exchange country to provide a space for the EP to share their exchange experience.
In order to kick start the campaign we need “pre-exchange” video – no more than 1 minute in length– from each participating EP. In this video, they may introduce themselves and their project and possibly their expectations. This raw footage will be compiled into a short video to introduce the campaign and the EPs we’ll be showcasing.
The campaign commences on December 25. The competition runs from December 25 to February 25. The campaign is open to any of this summer’s EPs. However, the competition is only open to non-AIESECers!
Your LCVPs already know all the details, but please get in touch with [email protected] if you or your EPs are interested in participating!

December Comments
OGX:
Congratulations to all the LCs who are still getting APPRs - it's not too late to Approve EPs to projects happening in December! It's RE peak now as well - ensure you are delivering LEAD to all your EPs! If you're not developing leadership in your EPs based on their LDA and the defining elements of the Leadership Qualities, then you're not doing an AIESEC exchange. The race for #1 LC for Approves and #1 LC for Realisations is still very open for oGV, oGT and oGE - there are a few more days in the year, which LC will finish on top?
Top Tips: Keep it simple and stay focused! Work with the current projects being promoted on the national landing pages and local conversion for all your LEADS :)
iGT:
It's time to start executing our strategies for 2017. Do we have a plan to reconnect our accounts and prospects this 2017? Remember that until the opportunity is approved, we must put 100% of our effort to make Leadership happen. We still have 19 opportunities on hold, go back and check our Account Mananagement models and start this 2017 with more approves.
