GUESS WHO'S BACk...
AIESEC International Congress 2016 has been an incredibly eye-opening experience for the global organisation. AIESEC is ready more than ever to work towards our 5 year ambition - AIESEC 2020.
By 2020, we want to be a youth leadership movement that is shaping what we do around what the world needs, growing disruptively and accessible to everyone everywhere. We want to engage and develop every young person in the world, and this ambition can't just stay an ambition - it needs to start with us. What is your contribution towards the AIESEC we want to see in 2020? How is your LC taking actions aligned with our global organisation? Are we bold in doing things differently? |
We are the largest youth organisation in the world - but it can only be the largest youth leadership movement when we act fearlessly as one organisation.
Be fearless and be audacious in your actions. The impact of AIESEC depends on how courageous you choose to be!
#leadfearlessly #lovehard
Have a great week!

PURPLE COW sharing
monash
ANU
Although the event was held a month ago, but we believe that this event has a high potential to spread the name of AIESEC around universities! Additionally, we’re starting conversion events very soon, so we believe that this #purplecow will be useful for some LCs J
In face of shortage of recruitment applicants and tight MEC timeline, AIESEC in ANU decided to create a 2 day conference where we were able to engage with both externals and existing members. We wanted to present AIESEC as a youth-run organisation with departments akin to other enterprises. The conference objective was to empower agents of change, to provide people with the knowledge and resources to make direct impact to others to achieve #pnf. It was basically an induction conference opened to externals.
Our Agenda covered diverse sessions, from portfolio introductions, LC simulation game, AIESEC Customer Flow, LEAD and Innovation Space.
The externals were very engaged in the LC Simulation Session where 4-5 mini LCs battled to see which team has the winning strategy! Ask Carson or Maggie from ANU for conference content, we’re happy to share them with you J

Results: We generated 74 conferences applications (including externals and existing members). 23/74 were externals. 22/74 of them were applications from those who already applied for membership. Rest are existing members including TLs (Excluding EB).
Half of the applicants heard about Behind the NGO through Facebook. With “A friend told me” and “ANU Market Day” as the second most popular response when asked how they found out about the event.
2 Event applicants are now approved EPs to China and Philippines! One of them are looking to do a back to back AIESEC project in summer! And another 2 event applicants are still in the process of finding their dream projects.
29 people showed up on the first day. 17 people showed up on the second day.

Key Learning
The event attracted people to register but not so much about attending on the day. Conversely, many people emailed to send in event absent apologies. The concept of the conference was attractive. Though people left throughout the day as some sessions weren’t as engaging or up to their expectations. It would be better if we can shorten the time of the conference into 1 day. If we had the opportunity to run “Behind the NGO” again, we would invite other organisations and speakers to hold some sessions. Spend minimum 3 weeks to market the event and prepare the conference content.

How are we growing from 2015?
What inferences are you getting from these numbers?
oGC: We are reaching only half our results for approves from last August - what went well this month and how can we improve?
oGT: We are performing around the same as last year,
iGT & iGC: We can do better at leads and meetings! What successes from last semester or last year should we replicate, and what opportunities are there to explore? It's up to you to make it happen!
