SETTING THE TONE
You've made it to Day 6 of the 2017 term! Congratulations!
What have you learnt so far? What's been going well for you? What needs to be adjusted or done differently?
Always finding the time to reflect on these questions will ensure you use every single day of this incredible term to capture your learnings and be agile to find the next steps forward to what you want to achieve. The attitudes and behaviours you start from the very beginning will set the tone for your term.
I remember starting my MCP term with a strong sense of agility. I knew I needed to change quickly if I wanted to make real changes to my entity. I wasn't going to stick around with the same strategies or structures if they didn't make sense anymore or was different to what I needed at each time. AIESEC is evolving to an organisation that will be a youth movement that grows disruptively, and how I choose to lead would define whether or not that evolution happens or not. So I consciously took time in my day to read and learn more about better business practices, speaking to my team on what is working and what isn't, meeting up with many externals and our MC coach over the year, taking time out to review our operations and adjust our structures as soon as they were needed. If I was going to talk about #launchandlearn then I needed to be serious in walking the talk. And I can gladly say that all the trying, learning and trying again were a big part of being where the entity is today. Understanding better ways to work as a team, better ways to work with the entity, and create the changes that matter - making plenty of mistakes along the way. And even today we probably haven't found the best way - however with an attitude of putting the entity first and being bold enough and agile enough to make adjustments, that's how AIESEC in Australia will evolve into the youth leadership movement we strive for.
So what are the behaviours and attitudes you want to see in your entity? And what are you doing today to drive them?
Have a great week :)

OGX: We are getting approves during off-peak and that's super amazing. However now is the time where all resources should be going into marketing (Attr & BA) to be able to set us up for our biggest peak! Nationally we're re-launching and re-setting up expectation chats with our existing and new IR partners to make sure we have opportunities to promote at both Oweek and First few weeks of uni. We know this is the time when they're the biggest traffic so how can take advantage of this! :D And don't forget to start organising Reintegration for your returning EPs! We discussed this in the VP MaC chat last week - speak to your VP MaC if you're not sure what's happening!
ICX: This is the time to generate our first steps in Sales, Lead Generation and Lead connected. No matter if your sales force is low, this part of the year to build your sales foundation, 80% of your results are gonna come from this 20% of effort that you put to your Actions. Track your sales performance everyday through our CRM (PODIO-TRIAL) and members performance through the Standardise tracking tool. Remember to execute the Customer Interviews, this analysis will give us more understanding of our products and get the customer centricity that GT & GE need.
