what we do matters
This week I was moved to write about how two of my MCP colleagues have reacted to the US election.
No matter where you personally stand on this, what we can all agree on is that the world needs to come together in cross-cultural understanding to achieve Peace and Fulfilment of Humankind’s potential.
The above photo is of Adry, MCP of AIESEC in the United States, and Jose, the MCP of AIESEC in Mexico, committing to develop amazing leadership qualities of world citizenship and understanding in youth of Mexico and the US. And AIESEC still has a lot of work to get there - more cross-cultural exchanges to contribute to a better world.
Don’t forget why you do what you do. Our organisation exists for a vision that needs to be achieved. We don't just exist to pass the time. I can't say this enough. What we do matters. Our work here matters. I want to be part of a world where there is no conflict and everyone can be the best version of themselves to work towards their own meaning of peace.
So let's get it done.
“In uncertainty we must find action”.

It's time for a final push for Approves for December realisations, and to start pushing for Approves for January realisations. Making your way through your list of EOIs and Opens from the year? Something super simple to do is make a Summer EP tracker and categorise the keen EPs by what sort of information or support they need to move forward. Just focus on the EPs who will convert for this summer! It's also time for Value Delivery, so S&S delivery will now be showcased in the newsletter. If there is an asterisk (*) symbol next to your LC, it means the EP Management space has not been fully updated since S&S tracking was added last month.
oGT/E:
Congratulations on the Approves, UNSW and UQ! Getting 27 Applicants last week has paid off for UNSW, getting 2 Approves this week. The EPs who are applying for projects at this time of year for summer realisation are more likely to convert - so focus on them! Also, it's time to consider what you can do to recruit EPs for January and February realisation - how can you tap into the graduate student market, to offer those students who are graduating but don't have plans next year to spend a year on an international work placement with AIESEC? t's also time for Value Delivery, so S&S delivery will now be showcased in the newsletter. Similar to oGC, if there is an asterisk (*) symbol next to your LC, it means the EP Management space has not been fully updated since S&S tracking was added last month.
iGT:
Congratulations to MU for 2 new approves during this months, others LCs are pushing really hard to convert those opens, MQ and UQ we hope to see your results during the next weeks. We still have 18 Opens to go from this peak, remember to talk constantly to your Enablers and know how you can support them to convert those opportunities. Also for those LCs that are waiting some EPs to come remember to prepare for Value Delivery, check our Customer Flow booklet (VD) to understand what we have to do before and after the exchange, there are also more materials available so you can make your VD successful.

Amazing example of co-delivery!
Co-delivering an exchange isn't just a buzzword, it's something that we have the power to do. Check out what Brenda Wang (VP oGC, UNSW) has been doing - contacting the Host Entity to have a chat with them to clearly outline the responsibilities of each party, and then clearly writing out the output in an email to the HE and to the EP. Doing any cool VD things? Let us know - send an email to Josh at [email protected] :D |

I am really privileged to attend the Asia Pacific Finance Summit in Malaysia as a LCVP and have this opportunity to see AIESEC outside of Australia. This is a 4-days summit where the MCVPFNs come together and learn about finance and legality. There are lots of learnings out of this summit and one of them is definitely the knowledge about finance and legality that I have learned. Finance is all about IT, in this era, we really need to leverage the technology that are available to perform bookkeeping, financial reporting, making financial model and manage conferences and events. We were given different tools that are easy-to-use, accurate and data-centric, which allow us to ensure the sustainability of our entity. In addition, the presences of other MCVPs allow intensive network connection, and understanding how other entities in AP are doing finance. The GCPs that have been shared in the summit are really useful for us can possibly be implemented in our entity. For example, different financial model, way of doing budget etc. Also, finance and legality was put into AIESEC 2020 context and what needs to be done on LC and MC level to ensure that we are on the right track in achieving our mid-term milestone by 2020 e.g. AIESEC visa, aligning financial reporting with the global financial board. It was a very intense yet rewarding experience as so many learnings was done and I can’t wait to share theme with the finance network in AIESEC in Australia!!
