taking the balcony view
Last week I had the privilege to be part of the Global Finance Summit held at the AIESEC International Office in Rotterdam. Our Summit had members from the Global Finance SubCommittee, Global Finance Board & CEEDers and we came together to work on a better, fairer and more sustainable financial model for the global organisation. With lots of changes underway to get towards an organisation that is sustainable and 100% legal in 2020, this has been an important task to undertake for all 126+ countries and territories.
Despite this opportunity, it is never an easy choice to take a break from the work you're doing - there have been a lot of things back at home I wish I was there for, working on and contributing to. Sometimes my mind would float back home until I consciously reminded myself to be present, make good use of my time and work for a bigger cause.
When you're always working inside the 'house', you can miss the bigger picture of things and obsess with the details of why some things happened. It's not always one thing's issue, or one person's mistake. When you go just outside and 'take the balcony view' you take a fresh breath of air while you see and welcome new perspectives. You consider things you never even realised but were there all along. You listen to new people and what they have to share. With that inspiration and clarity, that's what makes the difference when you go back inside to get your job done.
The holiday season is coming up - and yet it is our customer's biggest season to embark on their leadership development experiences. Don't forget what you have to get done, but take what time you have away to take the balcony view.

It was a big week for Approves last week - we grew 17% in the last week, compared to the same week in 2015! It just goes to show that it's not too late to get those Approves. Great job to the LCs who are delivering S&S. Remember, without delivering the 16 Standards & Satisfactions, we cannot develop leadership in our EPs. What small steps can you do in order to deliver the S&S? In S&S tracking, if there is an asterisk (*) symbol next to your LC, it means the EP Management space has not been fully updated since S&S tracking was added last month.

Good job on the Applicants, it's time to convert for more Approves again! A lot of LCs don't have a plan to reach the graduate market - what can you do in your LC to reach those graduates who don't have plans for next year? Similar to oGC, if there is an asterisk (*) symbol next to your LC, in the S&S tracking section, it means the EP Management space has not been fully updated since S&S tracking was added last month.

Congratulations to Usyd for 2 new approves during las week, we have some Opens that are now in progress to be approved, remember if you need more profiles you can contact directly the entities, they are looking for Opportunities as well :P. We have 14 opens to go, keep pushing those companies and start with the Magic of AIESEC, Value Delivery.
